The Hell's Gate Airtram takes us 500-feet down to river level where we can appreciate the speed of the water as it rushes through the 120-feet wide canyon

Day 19 is spent exploring Vancouver. We use the Sky Train (an elevated transit system) to get from our hotel to visit Lonsdale Quay; the Harbour Centre; Granville Island; Chinatown; Gastown; Water Street; Cambie Street; and Canada Place. We also tour the city by Gray Line bus, see an IMAX film, eat at Planet Hollywood, and return to the observation platform of the Harbour Centre to view the city at night

Day 20: a day of very poor weather - continuous cloud, with frequent showers in the morning and prolonged steady rain in the afternoon. The weather does not stop us from exploring our two main objectives: Howe Sound and the Capilano Suspension Bridge

After driving through Vancouver's Stanley Park, we cross the Lions Gate Bridge to reach the roughly triangular-shaped Howe Sound that joins a network of fjords just northwest of Vancouver. Towards the end of the sound is the 650-feet high Shannon Falls
