Day 17: after two nights at our palatial accommodation at the Jasper Inn, we will now drive from Alberta to the town of Kamloops in British Columbia - a convenient location on the road between Jasper and Vancouver

Before leaving Jasper to drive almost 300-miles to Kamloops, we ascend 3,000-feet to the summit of The Whistlers (left) by the Jasper Tramway. We then follow the Yellowhead Highway to Yellowhead Pass, the location of the Alberta/British Columbia border

Our route to Kamloops takes us through Mount Robson Park (the location of the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies) to visit the Overlander Falls and the Rearguard Falls. Each visit to these waterfalls involves short walks as it rains slightly. We then follow the Thompson River to the Comfort Inn at Kamloops.

Hell's Gate Canyon

Day 18: Today's drive to Vancouver is by way of the Trans-Canada Highway, initially following the Thompson River then the Fraser River. We make stops at Kamloops Lake; Spences Bridge; Lytton; and Hell's Gate Canyon. In Vancouver we check-in to the Best Western Kings Inn for three nights
