where we get coffee and doughnuts at Tim Horton's restaurant.

 

We then drive to Capilano Canyon

The famous suspension bridge is located in a 20-acre park and contains a number of features. The visiting of these features can be recorded by stamping a 'passport' (above right). The bridge was built in 1889, is 450-feet long, and sways 230-feet above the Capilano River - the swaying movement of the bridge is in three different directions all at once: side to side; up and down; and forwards and backwards

After visiting the Metrotown Shopping Mall, the largest in Canada with over 450 shops, we eat at the White Spot restaurant, whose extremely filling desserts include strawberry shortcake (left) and Mountain High profiteroles (right)

In Englishman River Falls Provincial Park we view a waterfall on the

Englishman River and find the strange white shoots of the plant  Indian Pipe

At Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park we explore the area where the Little Qualicum River flows through a gorge with two waterfalls. The nearby Cathedral Grove has many enormous Douglas Fir trees including one that is 9½-feet in diameter and over 250-feet high. Driving south, we arrive at the Best Western hotel in Victoria after driving on the most westerly section of the Trans-Canada Highway
