The excursion's second stop enables us to explore Matthew Street - the location of The Cavern Club. The street is lined with music
venues, restaurants and pubs which are all bustling with life despite the drizzly weather. Also here, are statues of Cilla Black and
John Lennon.
Photo stops are made at Penny Lane and Strawberry Field, and the coach takes us past a number of 'Beatles related' sights, such as
the former home of John Lennon (right).
May 28th: a day at sea after we leave Liverpool on the midnight high tide and sail for Dublin Bay. Some time on route, however, is
spent anchored off the coast of Northern Ireland where we have views of the Mourne Mountains. After this evening's meal (the last
of the three gala nights) we have to stand at the back of the full theatre to watch a Beatles tribute act: "The Beatles Experience".
May 29th: the Queen Anne moors off the port of Dun Laoghaire, and after taking the tender to there, we catch the DART train into Dublin,
alighting at Tara Street station. With limited time, we only manage to visit the magnificent Trinity College. Our return tender crossing
to the Queen Anne involves a somewhat traumatic coming together with the ship. Entertainment after our evening meal is a showing of
Shania Twain's Las Vegas show.
