From Boves, we drive to Ypres in Belgium for another overnight stay at a Novotel. On the way, we visit the Passchendaele Memorial Museum where a special event is being held with enthusiasts recreating some aspects of the First World War. The museum also has a reconstruction of a First World War trench system

For the final evening of our holiday, we eat at our favourite restaurant, Den Anker (pate; steak and chips; creme brulee) and then attend the Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate.
