After the considerable amount of walking involved in viewing the magnificent buildings of Lecce, we return to our hotel for a rest before setting out in the rain of the late afternoon for Jeanette's hair appointment. We find the salon behind a large wooden door labelled 'Private and Friends'. It is still raining when we come out and walk to the Museo Provinciale Castromediano. The exhibits in the museum are spread over two floors and tell the story of the area over several centuries - there are more examples of pots etc found at Egnazia. On the way back to the hotel we find a restaurant where a group with the Riviera travel company are about to eat
The restaurant, Osteria della Divina Provvidenza, provides us with a very enjoyable meal with three very filling courses that includes mozzarella cheese; ravioli and orecchiette pasta; monkfish and veal strips.

May 30th is a lovely sunny day, just as it was 50 years ago on our Wedding Day.
We spend the first part of the day in Otranto, about 60-kilometres from Lecce
