Day 6 commences with a drive to Yellowstone National Park

where we will stay for three nights at the Stagecoach Inn, West Yellowstone

Thumb Paint Pots: these were once the feature attraction at West Thumb Geyser Basin. An 1878 expedition originally named these features the Mud Puffs; they were said to be throwing mud 25 feet into the air .... surrounding the cones, the mud appears to be stirred and mixed to the smoothest, most satiny consistency

We enter Yellowstone National Park by its south entrance and our first day of exploration takes us to the West Thumb Geyser Basin;

Yellowstone Lake;  Hayden Valley; and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River; before reaching our hotel in the late evening
